Debated on going to this having seen it already and weighing the commute after work in addition to my overall exhaustion (I nearly doze off at these Wednesday NWCFS screenings). But I was feeling pretty good at the office so I went. Glad I did. I’m not the biggest Malick fan but I do believe his films should been seen on the big screen when the opportunity presents itself.
No exception here. It some ways it’s almost like viewing National Geographic docu mixed with a drama. The photography and cinematography is stunning on a big screen. Even knowing the outcome the impact and emotion was still quite strong and had me squirming as things unravel.
Btw, that twilight sequence with the grasshoppers and fire is movie magic. Just incredible.
