Viewing Notes

New monthly film series launched in Park Ridge and this was the kick-off event. I already knew going in this was going to be a DVD presentation but I still wanted to see this on the big screen having only seen it on a little TV as a child. And since it’s included in my Childhood Movie Project it was appropriate.

Such a well-paced movie for 2+ hours. Rarely lags. Forgot the cannibal scene entirely. Terrific performances all around esp. Kirk Douglas. Really wonderful film with great adventure and setpieces. Crazy that I still have faint memories of riding the submarine at Disney World. Wish that attraction still existed.
