Thirteenth film of my FF2013 and final fifth movie of Day 3, the midnight slot. Was a little worried scheduling a zero dialogue movie in this slot but it is so captivating and weird there was no issue staying completely involved in this dysfunctional family sexual drama. Don’t even know how to properly describe this movie other than to say it’s probably the most bizarre Korean film I’ve seen, which is saying a lot.
I do wish Kim Ki-duk didn’t go completely with the lack of dialogue because at times it’s distracting and took me out of the film. Then another batshit scene would occur and I would forget about it. Lots of awkward and uncomfortable laughter. Great audience flick and one that had me cringing more than any other movie I’ve seen. Amazing end to a seriously incredible day of movies. Again maybe my best day ever at a FF.
