Viewing Notes

Carved out some time to sit down with Ozu’s Ukikusa monogatari a.k.a. A Story of Floating Weeds (1934), his first version. Man, this is such a rich, wonderful tale. A performance troupe that lands in a town with a long history with the troupe’s manager then it all falls apart. Highly recommended.
