Damn this is a great flick. Kirk Douglas is naturally wonderful and highlighted by his loyalty to his friends and horse. His horse Whiskey should’ve gotten a supporting actor nod. For real. Harrowing final 30 minutes. Walter Matthau is tremendous in a small but important role. His character nuances are the best. Great to see this in scope covering the entire screen. Very nice 35mm CinemaScope print. Def one of the better Northwest Chicago Cinema Society screenings this year.
