Viewing Notes

Another long standing blindspot for obvious reasons. Trying to tackle both my unseen IMDb 250 and Flickchart. Yes, this is a good movie and also total Oscar bait. Brody is good but Oscar worthy? Sure, even though he really doesn’t do much more than emote. I guess people really love movies based on true stories about the Holocaust.

I won’t deny that this is a well-made, well-acted film but not one I’d revisit. What’s weird that even with the horrendous depictions of brutality and murder this still feels a little too mainstream for Polanski. Almost like Polanski doing Spielberg.
