Viewing Notes

Really wanted to like this but its telegraphed point A to point B storyline is tedious. The 2-hour runtime is felt and weighs down this simple brother and brother revenge plot. All the actors are in top form esp. Woody Harrelson’s menacing DeGroat. Both Bale and C.Affleck are great. Just wish this was more than what it is; a predictable small town tale of bad decisions and circumstances. I don’t think the film earns the sympathy for the two brothers even as tragic as it becomes.
