If I didn’t know the director I would have guessed Johnnie To totally based on the style and invention of this movie. His touches are all over this from the plotting, staging, cinematography, etc. Such a good looking movie even if the print on Instawatch sucks. I love when Anthony Wong has a total badass character like this. The loss of memory in Costello takes a suspension of belief typical of To’s films. I give him a lot of credit for making even the preposterous premise entertaining and highly watchable.
I’d love to see a prequel with those three hitman (Anthony, Suet, and Ka Tung Lam). They are so terrific together.
