Viewing Notes

Well produced and good looking flick on a low budget. I guessed the forest was Vancouver from the start since I knew they wouldn’t have the budget to send the American cast and crew to Japan.

It’s a blend of Japanese ghost story told from a western POV which I thought was interesting (even though it’s been done a few times now). What really drops the film into sub-grade territory is the lack of a solid focus. We get why they go to the forest but it’s never clear what is causing all the death other than it’s a “suicide forest” and cursed.

Bah, give us something more so it at least makes sense when all the supernatural shit is hitting the fan.
