Picked this up for the cast and it is the absolute reason to see this neo-western. Treat Williams comments during the featurette, “if this was shot in the desert with horses it would be a western.” So very true. I love the on-location filming in Canada in the snow and mountains. It looks brutal and cold. Eric Bana is great with such subtitle looks and lines. Maybe the most beautiful Olivia Wilde I’ve seen so far. Just stunning here.
It’s like a amped up made for TV movie. More violence. Was curious to see Charlie Hunnam in a different role but this character could easily be the same guy in PacRim before the kaiju invade. I’ll pretend it is.
