In a violent, near-apocalyptic Detroit, evil corporation Omni Consumer Products wins a contract from the city government to privatize the police force. To test their crime-eradicating cyborgs, the company leads street cop Alex Murphy into an armed confrontation with crime lord Boddicker so they can use his body to support their untested RoboCop prototype. Been way too long since I’ve viewed this. At least longer than I’ve been tallying (pre-2009). Such a damn good movie. Kurtwood Smith nearly steals the movie but certainly every scene he’s in. I can still remember the very first time I watched this when I lived in Rockford. Another film I still haven’t seen on the big screen. Hopefully I will get another chance.
I’m excited to see what they do in the new movie since none of the sequels were all that good.
