Viewing Notes

Bloody period film presented almost entirely in flashbacks leading up to the opening scene. Then the finale plays out from there. A rather tanged web of deception and double crosses in an attempt to assassinate the king that literally is planned over a decade as assassins are carefully positioned around him.

A lot of plot to contain in a 2:15 runtime that probably would be better served over a series. Some of that story is lost when it gets glossed over to further the main plot making it a challenge to understand why all of this is occurring in the first place. Despite that it’s still a decent watch with a solid cast.

I just wish for once they offered some explanation for how these assassins are trained and able to maintain their training and skills after being undercover for so long. And who trained the king? Guess we just have to accept certain things to buy into the story as a whole.
