Viewing Notes

Man, I love Wynorski and I will watch anything he makes. Sadly this isn’t one of his better trashy B-movies. In fact, it’s quite terrible. The biggest problem is making this a period flick set in the 50s (a loose remake of The Giant Gila Monster). Had it been modern day it would be more effective and possibly a better production i.e. putting a giant digital creature into that setting just looks bad.

Then having visual queues to remind you that this really isn’t the 50s is distracting. Also having the Gila Monster so far outside of its natural habitat is silly. I actually like the digital lizard but I don’t like everything around it. I could nitpick this to death but it really isn’t worth the time. Hopefully he doesn’t attempt something like this again and sticks to what he does best.

I was supposed to see this at B-Celebration last fall with Wynorski in attendance. Couldn’t make it work with the schedule. Glad I missed it because I just would’ve been sad.
