Viewing Notes

Excellent yakuza film by Fukasaku filled with all the filth, dirt and grime of surviving the street life as thugs. Bunta Sugawara is stellar as the wild dog that won’t bend for anybody. Nothing pretty or glamorous about this. Pure raw nerve emotion that ignites conflict between all the clans. Even an expression can be as deadly as a knife to the gut. Pre-dates the Yakuza Papers but just as good in delivering the energy of this way of life.
