Viewing Notes

Can see why this is a classic. It’s just insane. The only thing that could’ve made this better is if they really spoke Japanese (the entire film is Cantonese with Hong Kong / Chinese actors). But the main story is China versus Japan, their best swordsman in a duel (to the death). However, it gets complicated when a scheme is in play to disrupt this annual event so that Japan can obtain kung fu secrets and a once leading kung fu school can regain its prominence.

This probably shouldn’t get a “nudity” tag for one scene but it’s a pretty crazy scene with a few kunoichi. A batshit scene that I would’ve loved to have gone on longer. Most of the ninja sequences are batshit.

My DVD says “digitally remastered” but honestly the PQ is crap. I’d love to have a HD version. Would be another fun flick for movie night.
