Viewing Notes

Another film for my Childhood Movies Project. Definitely haven’t seen this since the 80s. I think I saw this during its theatrical run and recall being slightly terrified. Always thought this was an odd feature from Disney considering how violent it is. Probably one of the reasons I’ve always liked it. The matte composites really are outstanding as are the setpieces. It’s throughout that final sequence where the film goes off the rails. I give it a lot of credit for the ambition and general weirdness in addition to the amazing set design. Pretty solid cast too.
