Viewing Notes

Another big screen bucket list movie in the bag.

So glad I made the trip to MBT to see this in 35mm. Immaculate print so clean I’d often forget I was viewing a print. Gorgeous film. It’s been so long since I’ve seen this and I’ve been wanting to revisit. When I saw it in the summer schedule I circled it on the calendar. Watching the film now makes me want to look up all the articles about it to understand it more.

A pretty cool addition to the screening this evening was a brief interview with David Lynch and Laura Harring discussing the movie. I’d forgotten that this was initially going to be a TV series. I can totally see that. After that we were treated to the “10 Clues of Mulholland Dr.” with a live organ accompaniment. I’d never seen nor heard of that so that was neat.

As tired as I was beforehand I was completely captivated once again by this movie. I would place the Rebekah Del Rio Llorando scene among the greatest moments in cinema. Just incredible and devastating.

Also pretty jazzed that I could moviepass that. =)
