Last movie for Bruce Campbell’s Horror Film Festival that ended the festival on a high. I knew *nothing* about this movie going into it. Since I knew I was going to all the films I hadn’t already seen (which was only 4 counting the Evil Dead trilogy), I didn’t bother to read the synopsis about them. Kinda glad I didn’t because this film was a big surprise.
The premise could have been corny as hell but it works here and makes for a compelling watch with great FX and a great lead actor in Amanda Adrienne, who becomes a total badass. It is very brutal but since it’s a supernatural flick doesn’t feel nearly as brutal as KILLERS, the first film of the day. Still a very fun albeit rough watch.
The director kinda shat on his own movie during the Q&A but I won’t hold it against him since this movie turned out pretty damn good.
