Viewing Notes
Movie #2 on Day 3 at CHFF. Second movie on Day 3 at Chicago Horror Film Festival. Odd choice for the festival given that this isn’t a horror movie. Rather this is dark Aussie comedy about an Ice Cream man’s obsession with a television actress. His days and nights are spent dreaming of chance encounters with her. Yet his reality is quite pathetic. Fantasizing is the only way to escape until real life collides with his dreams. Often more tragic than funny, the film is filled with uncomfortable moments. I suppose for that reason it was included in the festival. Definitely won’t look at an ice cream truck the same way again.
