Viewing Notes

Was surprised to find this movie screening at a nearby theater in the Chicago burbs. Didn’t realize it was getting any kind of theatrical run. Knowing it wasn’t gonna last more than a week I went out to Streets of Woodfield for the late showtime (after class). Debated not going since I was exhausted but the premise sounded pretty cool and it being a Halloween movie… well, how could I resist.

It’s exactly as described; a group of 20-somethings hit a different seasonal “scare attraction” each night for 7 days leading up to Halloween starting in Texas. They shot video and interview people along the way. Totally plausible and easy to buy into.

Nothing particularly great here but hits enough notes to make it interesting and keep me awake. Probably works for me because I have an aversion towards those attractions. So I can relate to the fears and scares. A couple came into the screening and I predicted they would leave. They did. Probably more so because they weren’t crazy about the found footage video format. This isn’t a movie that looks good on the big screen but one that would be fun to watch with a big crowd.
