Viewing Notes

Fifth movie at The Massacre, the newly restored digital that Wynorski personally oversaw. He said it should be released on Blu by LionsGate but no date has been set. Very nice to chat with him about the movie and restoration. He’s pretty happy with the results. Definitely the best this movie has looked and sounded. So much better than my previous viewing at Portage Theater w/the full-screen DVD and shitty audio.

Ideal movie to see at an event like this with so many crowd pleasing moments. Good Q&A as Jim always has great stories to share. Was really cool to see so many fans lining up to meet and talk with him. He deserves all the attention for his contributions to genre cinema.

Completely lost on me on that previous viewing was the Eating Raoul bit with Paul Bartel and Mary Woronov in the beginning. Also great and not unsurprising that Dick Miller’s appearance received a hearty cheer from our audience.
