Viewing Notes

What I watch when I’m sick. Picked this up because of the cast. Some good voice acting in a so-so humdrum story set in Africa. Borrows from so many other animated movies so nothing feels original. Director Wayne Thornley even admits in the extras that his movie was heavily influenced by Disney, Pixar and DreamWorks. Yet because it’s set in Africa, it’s unique. What.

Animation is just okay but still step below what those other studios have done. Better watch for children with the unlikely hero and his journey. Thing that bugged me the most is the tree city in which all these birds live, Zambezia. Who built it? I suppose were to assume it was built by the animals but how? Birds can’t build the structures and bridges. Stuff like that always bothers me. I’m sure there was a better more believable way to present that.
