Viewing Notes

For my 31 in 31 Challenge but barely qualifies even as unconventional horror. Really interesting premise set in Russia, which is why I chose it for the challenge. However, after a slow setup the movie becomes a bit dull in reaching a conclusion. Have a feeling the book is much better in developing these concepts and filling in many of the gaps present in the film. Honestly this would work better as a short series of episodes as a lot of ideas are crammed into this. Kept waiting for the movie to deliver that punch to really nail the perceived threat of the alien invaders. What does occur happens off-screen. Disappointment for me given the good world-building.
