Viewing Notes

Finally got out to see this since it was screening at a couple of theaters in the outer burbs. Trucked up to Buffalo Grove for this since it was the closest to me. Haven’t been to that theater before but it’s as I suspected, old school setup in a strip mall. Weird being inside of one of those these days but it was fine for this movie. Moviepassed my ticket which was only $4.50.

Even with the generally crappy weather (snow + freezing rain) there was still a decent crowd. This is definitely the kind of movie worth viewing with a good crowd. Turns out that even I enjoyed this more than I expected. WOM wasn’t all that great but I had more with this than This Is The End. I laughed quite a bit but there are a lot of jokes that fall flat. The jokes that work really work. Even the older Korean couple near me laughed out loud at the “Konnichiwa” bit.

After seeing this the entire brouhaha with Sony and terrorist threats seem very silly. This will be a weird movie to have a particular noted place in the history of cinema.
