Viewing Notes

This is a 2.5 hour who’s who of the Toho studio system. Veterans of Honda’s kaiju flicks and Kurosawa’s period pieces alike.

Pretty intense docu-drama about what went down when Japan agreed to surrender and end the war. Much of this I did not know so this is very much a history lesson. Rather bloody too. Definitely has me wanting to read up on events as they really happened. Kinda nuts that it almost didn’t happen (the surrender).

Again, this cast is insane. And all men (only one female actor in a very small role in a short scene).
