Viewing Notes

Angela Mao is cold. Such a cold and fierce badass seeking only revenge for the death of her sister. But this is less about her and more about Chang Yi’s character, the man she wants to kill.

The story is a bit murky as to why Chang Yi has been hiding in seclusion for 3 years and why the evil gang wants him dead. Yet he and his sister June Wu Ching-Erh get into a series of fights with Angela Mao coming to their aid because she wants to kill Chang herself. Lots of great fighting and the obligatory training sequence where Change learns Tai Chi in one day even though none of the training is actual Tai Chi.

Oh, Sammo Hung is a cornball henchman yet again with a hilarious weaksauce English voice actor.

I’d like to see a better presentation of this on DVD because the fighting is pretty good. And there is a lot of it. Also that English title I suppose refers to the main move that Chang learns during his one day training in which he uses his hands like piercing spears when his strikes, a deep thrust. Not very Tai Chi. The “Lady Whirlwind” HK title is better.
