After viewing Golden Swallow I figured I might as well follow it with Iron Swallow. I actually viewed this last week on my phone but fell asleep maybe halfway through so I watched it again from the beginning.
Pretty cool female protagonist kung fu flick with Judy Lee / Chia Ling as Iron Swallow. She’s not as good as Angela Mao but still has some killer chops. Especially the sweeping leg kick which looks like it was totally stolen for the Street Fighter II video game (one of Chun Li’s signature moves).
This is full-on revenge flick with two best friends caught in the middle of Iron Swallow’s path to eliminate all the men responsible for covering up a previous crime. The details are a bit confusing but the kung fu is on point. Some great side characters as well dish out the fighting along the way.
Another movie that will probably never get a decent release but certainly deserves it. And FWIW I enjoyed this more than Golden Swallow.
Took Ron’s advice and viewed via iPad. Not bad.
