Weird they made a sequel but guess it makes sense based on the manga. Not sure how long that series ran but they could have kept making more films if the material was available. Plenty of dire moments but also the hopefulness of a better life for this kids banding together to make the best of it. Not the gut-punch of the first movie (how could it be?) yet extends the story very organically.
