Viewing Notes

Cat3 horror Kung fu mashup starring Donnie Yen? Okay.

Netflix has this a 2004, the date the US DVD was released under “Shaolin vs Devil’s Omen” but I knew as soon as it started this was a 90s flick. Has that aesthetic like you’re watching it take place in a fish tank.

Pretty standard serial killer flick playing with horror tropes. Dude is capturing and killing women born on June 6 to sacrifice to Satan. Donnie Yen is on the case and drops a few kicks along the way. Pretty middling all the way through with no real peaks. I think this was done more as a response to Se7en trying to ride on those coattails with less than half the effectiveness.
