Viewing Notes

There are several reasons to watch this Run Run Shaw comedy mystery adventure but I’ll make a case for Yeung Jing-Jing being the number one reason. She is a super badass swordswoman with a few great sequences. She’s been in a bunch of other movies but not sure if I noticed her.

The slapsticky stuff with the detective and police doesn’t work for me but some great kung fu along with Fu Sheng and his brother (who looks more like Lo Meng), Gordon Liu and Johnny Wang really prop up the movie. Normally I wouldn’t care to view a comedy again but this is one I would like to see uninterrupted in its original language.  I think the goofy English dub doesn’t help so he would likely play better in Mandarin.

Still enough here to make it very entertaining regardless. Funny to see Gordon Liu as a supporting character.
