Based on a true story about a “Robin Hood” pirate in the 19th Century that steals riches to give to the poor. The way this story is told in the movie it often feels like Ti Lung isn’t a hero but more villainous the way he’s portrayed. The beach massacre is quite brutal and bloody.
The crown jewel of the movie is the final fight between Ti Lung and David Chiang. Another film that would play better without all the commercial breaks but nice to see it as I’m not sure it’s available.
