Overview

Set at the time of Italian explorer Marco Polo’s historic expedition to China ,during the reign of Monogol ruler Kublai Khan, it stars American actor Richard Harrison as Polo. Taking considerable liberties with the historic record, the film has Polo turning up as an Imperial Inspector assigned to root out Chinese rebles in the south, but eventually being won over to their cause.

Viewing Notes

a.k.a. MARCO POLO

A pre-Venom Mob flick from Chang Cheh featuring Phillip Kwok and Alexander Fu Sheng as two of the assassins seeking revenge against Richard Harrison’s vanilla Marco Polo. But in order to beat the Mongols they need to train and level up.

Really great training sequels in which each of the four undergo a different method designed to beat the toughest of the Mongols including Gordon Liu.

Fun movie despite the totally wonky story with Marco Polo and the princess. Always great to see Phillip Kwok and Fu Sheng kicking ass. Also neat to see Carter Wong in a Shaw Production. Weird that they even dubbed Harrison’s voice with one of the Shaw regulars.
