Viewing Notes

Since I made the trip out to S.Barrington I figured I’d do a double feature using Moviepass. This flick opened in somewhat limited release so I opted to check it out here after reading some positive words on it. Of course Ian McKellen is great. Laura Linney is also very good. Story is a little soft with a mystery Holmes is trying solve, his last cast, that he’s having a hard time remembering due to his age.

He befriends his housekeeper’s son, Roger, who encourages him to work on the mystery. This is more about the relationship and dealing with aging. No surprise that most of my audience was of similar age. Guess seniors enjoy watching movies they can relate to. Go figure!

Good movie but not great. Still worth checking out but not a must see in the theater.
