Thanks to Mr Jago for bringing this to my attention. 27 minute short film.
Well produced fan film (crowdfunded) that brings the Predator to the… dark ages. I’m beginning to wonder if the Predator is the most utilized character for fan films. Maybe tied with Batman. I guess once people figured out how to skillfully reproduce that costume oh so many years ago these fan films started popping up.
My problem with this is that this crew seems to disregard some of the basic tenets of the Predator mythos, which has been established over 4 films and numerous comics. Firstly why is the Predator visiting in cold weather conditions or chilly conditions of olde England? If there was some unexplained heat wave that would make more sense.
Secondly, there is nothing about these “knights” that is significant or trophy worthy. They’re all average or below that just happen to be getting taken out by the Predator. Now if it had been the Knights of the Roundtable, some serious skilled warriors, that would be different.
For a fan film this is decent but unfortunately feels amateurish. Totally feels like some guys were like, “wouldn’t it be cool to see the Predator in the dark ages?!” then made this movie. Wish they at least provided a better reason why the Predator was there picking off unskilled dudes with swords.
