It’s that kind of night. I did not hate this. In fact, after the rather dull first half I enjoyed most of the second half when things start happening. In a way, the first half isn’t even needed. Maybe it’s for character development or to table set however there is nothing to these characters, all typical high school kids lacking any depth. The table is set in the first scene with the incident that occurs in 1993. Twenty years later just get it going and don’t spend all the time following these kids around school.
There’s a great scene looking up an shaft of some type that is truly haunting. It’s never touched upon again which is weird. The found footage / video recording makes sense most of the time. And it often looks like you would expect.
I have one big problem with the movie that I can’t reveal here because it’s a spoiler. Hit me up if you care to know.
Decent crowd at my 9:30pm Monday night screening. Lots of screams and fakeouts which was fun to hear in my audience. Most of my audience applauded at the end. That was weird. Guess they were happy they were scared?
