Overview

Olivier Assayas, Gus Van Sant, Wes Craven and Alfonso Cuaron are among the 20 distinguished directors who contribute to this collection of 18 stories, each exploring a different aspect of Parisian life. The colourful characters in this drama include a pair of mimes, a husband trying to chose between his wife and his lover, and a married man who turns to a prostitute for advice.

Viewing Notes

Interesting project that doesn’t quite always work but still interesting to watch. Did not know Vincenzo Natali directed one of the segments (featuring Elijah Wood and Olga Kurylenko no less). I picked this up primarily for the Wes Craven short, which is just okay. The Tom Tykwer and Christopher Doyle installments were probably my favorite.

I like how some of the characters bleed over into the other stories in the finale but I wish there had been more of that throughout to tie all the shorts together into the same universe.
