Overview

During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.

Would agree with others that this is the best Ridley Scott movie in years. Not sure how many years but definitely one of his best. Almost in disbelief that he directed this because it’s so damn good. My only reservations are with the story and believing that this would unfold the way it does. But the movie works to make you want to believe this could actually happen. Great performance by Matt Damon and the rest of the cast.
