Viewing Notes

Not the movie I expected. Then again I didn’t know anything about this movie other than the basic Naruto story. Lots of things have changed! This story takes place years and years after I stopped watching the Naruto Shippuden series. After having seen this I wish I hadn’t. So many questions. Yet none bigger than how did everyone manage to marry each other and have children??!

This a nice change but also a lot to take in given that when I last left this group of teenage ninjas they were at odds with each other and still very much angsty teens. Now they’re adults with families and witch their own kids on the path to become skilled shinobi.

Once I got past my initial shock I settled into this story which is pretty great and got me emotional seeing these characters interact. The father/son situation between Naruto/Boruto is the crux of the story it was so cool to see all the other characters with their children be a part of this. I’d definitely watch a TV series with this new group but I need to go back and watch Shippuden. Actually I’m tempted to go back and revisit the first 100 eps of the original Naruto series.

I love who Naruto ended up marrying but really question Sasuke and Sakura. Kinda wish that had gone a different way given how smitten Sakura was with Sasuke when they were kids and he really disliked her. ah well. I’m sure there is a good reason they eventually hooked.

Honestly it’s weird I got that emotional at all for these characters but it’s nice feeling.
