Viewing Notes

Missed this at Music Box of Horrors. The upside is that this DVD looks like an old 35mm print.

This is not a movie that should be scheduled at 4AM at Box of Horrors. In fact, I question why this movie was scheduled at all. Sure, it has horror, a modern vampire story, but it’s more drama and dreamlike and totally does not fit a movie marathon line-up. I can’t imagine fighting sleep and trying to watch this. I’d be restless in a theater. It would be tough to watch on its own in a theater let alone a movie marathon.

I do not dislike the movie. This is a very interesting way to paint a story of a vampire tale with a predominantly black cast early 70s film that is not blaxploitation. I’m sure there’s many essays on this film.

I’d love to know the logic on how this was chosen for the Box of Horrors.
