Watched with my nephew! This isn’t a bad little animated flick. Since it’s a Russian production all the signs and printed words in the animation are in Russian which is neat. The one thing that bothers me is how the dogs are abducted to be placed in the training program. I don’t think it’s ever really addressed but it’s rather evil in that dogs are taken from the streets for this space program.
In the post-credits there is “old” footage of the actual dogs that were used in the space mission so I’m curious if this was loosely based on real events. Need to look that up. If so that would be very cool.
Holy shit this is based on a (mostly) true story: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_space_dogs#Belka_and_Strelka
