Took my nephew to see this since he’s crazy about dinosaurs. Was nervous and excited. I’ve not taken a 3yo to the cinema so this was a new experience and I was worried with how he’d behave. Fortunately he’s a good kid and he was very well-behaved and mostly enjoyed the movie.
This is a weird movie that doesn’t feel like a Pixar movie. Also weird to see such photo-realistic CG environments with cartoonish character designs. Seriously this is the best computer rendered world I’ve seen on screen. The story is basic that tugs at the heart strings throughout. Bizarre sequence where the main characters get “high” on fermented fruit.
Not one of the better Pixar films but still a decent watch that gets overly frightening at times for the younger crowd. Unlike other Pixar movies of note, I wouldn’t bother revisiting this movie.
