When the emperor becomes ill and the Sung Dynasty is threatened by an evil baron, a patriotic officer named Ree (Chia Ling) is assigned to the imperial palace to protect the sacred temple from rebels. Prepare to be chopped and kicked as Ling displays some martial arts fireworks in this 1979 curiosity.

Love that Fandor has a whole “chopsocky” section with movies such as this. Not a particularly great HK/Taiwanese production but it does have Chia Ling in the starring role as a badass fighter with sword. She takes down a whole troop of monks with flying guillotines! Admittedly they are pretty awful but still there’s like 20 of them.
Wait. Did I mention the GIANT eagle that swoops down on the evil doers????
Movies like this make me wish I was doing my kung fu project.
