So excited to see in 70mm!!
Great to finally see this movie in its entirety on the big screen *and* in 70mm (blown up). Last time I saw it big was at Sci-Fi Spectacular in 2011 when I arrived late and missed the first 90min. Here’s what I wrote then:
“Because I had other shit going on I arrived during the screening of Krull. A little sad I missed most of it b/c I haven’t seen it in a theater since its original release. At least I got to see Cyclops be the hero. Really adore that film. “
Seeing it today in a packed Music Box was a delight. It looks incredible on the new screen. All the location cinematography is amazing. It’s crazy how much of Star Wars is baked into this story from the heroes to plot turns and even the villains. Of course there’s a bit of Excalibur and Lord of the Rings too. Such a wild mash-up of ideas borrowed from all these that it’s hard not to love or at least appreciate.
