Viewing Notes

First time viewing! Having never seen this movie this event was probably the best way to experience it for the first time. I think viewing this on my own at home it would have been tough to appreciate given the runtime and ongoing slapstick physical comedy, which stretches some sequences too long.

However, viewing with a huge audience at the Music Box in 70mm Ultra Panavision really made this a super fun experience. It’s a crazy movie that had to be challenging to film. Didn’t realize the amount of talent that was brought together to create this. Stacked with top stars of the time, some of which look younger than I would have imagined for the time and others that look older like Mickey Rooney.

This is another movie where I’d like to visit some of the locations where it was filmed.
