Viewing Notes

At some point I need to talk myself out of these one-off screenings of anime feature films. I suppose I keep thinking that I’ll find one that’s great but it’s rarely the case anymore. Especially when I’m not familiar with the story or TV series it’s based on. This is a good example.

While not a bad movie, it’s just not all that interesting to me. Nothing here is original or memorable. It just does it’s thing with these characters, none which have any emotional investment worth caring about. Animation is just okay. Action okay. Story okay. I grew bored viewing this and wanted it to end.

It’s almost an hour into the this when it picks up then drops into a long scene of dialogue exposition then finishes with some action. Yawn. Sadly nothing about this compels me to want to view the series. Maybe if Funanimation screened the Japanese language version I would have enjoyed it more.
