Overview
Sue Ellen Crandell is a teenager eagerly awaiting her mother’s summer-long absence. While the babysitter looks after her rambunctious younger siblings, Sue Ellen can party and have fun. But then the babysitter abruptly dies, leaving the Crandells short on cash. Sue Ellen finds a sweet job in fashion by lying about her age and experience on her résumé. But, while her siblings run wild, she discovers the downside of adulthood

My god it’s probably been 20 years since I’ve seen this. But I did see it in theater probably 5 times. Didn’t realize all the actors in this… David Duchovny? Also forgot Danielle Harris is the little girl.
Her salary is $37,500 / year, which would’ve been pretty good for me back in 1991.
Such a product of its time. I adore this movie but it’s so dopey upon this revisit. My biggest hangup is how awful the kids are esp. Kenny. Duchovny’s character is hilarious. The only non-realistic thing is that Sue Ellen doesn’t take the offer for a job at the end. She’s 17 with no future why wouldn’t she take it??
