Viewing Notes

A solid 7/10. Not a great movie but certainly a fun summer popcorn flick. Has plenty of humorous beats and good character turns. Hits plenty of nostalgia notes most of which are after my time with the turtles. It’s a weird feeling because my relationship with the turtles is from the original comic books. I didn’t watch the cartoons and only saw one of the first live action movies in the theater.

So I’m only vaguely familiar with Krang, Rock Steady and Bebop. But it was nice to see this interpretation of them on screen along with the personalities of the turtles shining through. I like Megan Fox a lot here. I’d be fine if she kept taking rolls like these. Casey Jones is the only disappointment for me in this movie. He really doesn’t have that gritty streetwise look and feel I knew from the books.

Overall an enjoyable ride and one I’d take again.
