How do you make a bad post-apocalypse action movie worse? Introduce zombies out of nowhere. Probably the worst movie I’ve seen this year. This is a ninja movie where none of the primary actors are Japanese. In fact they’re mostly caucasian. Also it’s a loose remake of THE WARRIORS where the the opening sequence the leader calls all the ninja gangs to a peace rally then he’s murdered. Of course the “lost tribe” is wrongfully accused so all the other ninja clans are out to take them down as they attempt to get home. So blatantly obvious and stupid. Plus this just looks cheap as if they filmed the entire thing in the same warehouse somewhere in Louisiana.
Also somehow these “ninja” have superpowers. Ugh this is so bad. I actually saw the blu-ray at Family Video for $2.50 yesterday but passed because I knew it wasn’t even worth that much. I was right.
Makes me sad that Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa is resigned to making this movies to pay the bills.
