Viewing Notes
Nice of my library to have the blu-ray of this so I could finally check it out. I believe this is another that falls into that “if I hadn’t already seen the superior original film this might be okay” category. As it stands on its own it never achieves the emotional gut punch of the original film. It’s like a paint-by-numbers remake that attempts to hit the same beats but lacks the soul. Not terrible but unnecessary.
