Viewing Notes

In news that even surprised me, I really enjoyed this. Way more than ID4 but that’s not a high bar. At least by the end of this movie I didn’t walk out disappointed. There’s plenty of silly and absurd things happening in this one but I got a greater sense of seriousness from all parties involved with less jokey nonsense.

I thought Now You See Me 2 catered to the Chinese market but this one really does that, which is interesting to see in two big sequels this summer. Yet I like the international flavor just wish there was more of it. It’s hilarious to see Angelababy here. She’s a knockout but hard to buy as an elite fighter pilot. Same with Maika Monroe for that matter. Not because they’re women but they’re so young. But they do make for great inspiration.

I honestly don’t think they can make a sequel they set up at the end but I’d love to it with this cast.
